VALUES &
BELIEFS

Ten Mile Christian is a Christian Church in the Restoration Movement Tradition. We are a non-denominational body of believers; followers of Jesus who define ourselves by no other creed but Christ. Our values and beliefs shape who we are as a church family. They guide how we love God, care for one another, and serve our community. Here you’ll find the heart of what we believe and the principles that ground everything we do.

TMC MISSION

We exist to make disciples of Jesus Christ who worship, learn, & serve.
As we take the next steps to be disciples and disciple others, we focus on 3 important aspects. Worshiping God in response to what God has done for us. Learning about God to allow Him to transform us into His likeness. And serving God to empower us to impact our church and community that will encourage others to follow God.

VISION

A life of discipleship is a life of transformation. We’re looking for each and every person, whether you’ve been following Christ for one day or 53 years, no matter what you’ve done, no matter how broken, no matter your story, God wants to see you become a Gospel story of transformation. From our neighbors here in Meridian, to the greater Treasure Valley, PNW and Mountain regions, and our global ministry partners, we want to see God transform all of us and change the world.

We want to see each & every person transformed in Christ.

VALUES

CORE VALUES

Our core values highlight what matters most to us as a church. They reflect the way we live out our faith together and shape how we follow Jesus in our daily lives.

Lordship of Christ

Jesus Christ is Lord of heaven and earth, by the  power  given  him  by  God the  Father  and  is  the  head  of  the church.

COMMUNITY VALUES

Our community values describe how we live out our faith together. These four guideposts shape the way we love, serve, and grow as a family of believers.

Hospitality

As Christians we want to be known for our exceptional hospitality where all are welcome to start fresh and find fellowship.

If you knew my story, you’d know there is hope for you.

We believe in one God—the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

God the Father is the creator of heaven and earth and the sustainer of our lives. He is all powerful (omnipotent), present everywhere eternally (omnipresent), and all knowing (omniscient).

Genesis 1:1 | Deuteronomy 6:4 | Hebrews 11:3

We believe that Jesus is the one and only begotten Son of God. He is God in the flesh, fully human and fully God, perfectly unified.

Jesus was born of the virgin Mary. While on earth, He was tempted as we are, but was sinless. God laid on him the sins of us all and He died for our sins. He then rose from the dead for our salvation, our deliverance from Death unto eternal life. He ascended into heaven where he reigns and intercedes continually before the Father.

John 1:18 | Philippians 2:5-11
Colossians 1:15-18

We believe that Holy Spirit is unified with the Father and the Son.

The Holy Spirit is fully God. The Spirit draws all people to Christ, guides believers to truth, and comforts believers in their struggles and enables them to fulfill the mission of Christ. The Spirit convicts the world of its sin and guilt and judges the world concerning righteousness.  The Spirit is God in the present tense.

BELIEVES

We believe that the Bible is the collection of God’s inspired written word.

Human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit, wrote the Bible. It is the authoritative rule of faith and practice for Christians and the Church. We believe that anyone who approaches the Bible with the same care used in interpreting literature and language can understand it.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 | 2 Peter 1:20-21

We believe that the Church is the body of Christ on earth.

The Church is constituted of all followers of Christ continuing to do Jesus’ mission. The church has many members but one head—Jesus. All members of the body are important.

We believe that Christ will return again.

Christ will come bodily a second time to restore creation to Himself and judge the living and the dead.

Acts 1:11 | 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
Revelation 20:11-15

We believe salvation is found in Christ alone, by grace, through faith, offered freely to all people.

Faith is demonstrated through repentance, confession, baptism by immersion, and a life of discipleship. Baptism is how we say “yes” to Jesus, by participating with Him in His death, burial, and resurrection by being immersed in water and proclaiming our allegiance.

Ephesians 2:4-10

We  believe  baptism  is  saying  "Yes"  to  following  Jesus  by participating with Him in His death, burial, and resurrection.

The early church in Acts practiced baptism hand-in-hand with repentance of sin and confession of faith. The word "baptize" means to "immerse" and is the method we believe best honors the Scriptures.

Acts 2:38 | Romans 6:4 | John 3:3-5

DSC04590.jpg

We believe the Lord’s Supper (Communion/Eucharist) is an identification with Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection personally instituted to serve as a reminder and means of communion.

We consider communion a memorial and an expression of fellowship with the Lord and with one another. Following the example of the believers in Acts, we observe communion weekly. The Lord’s Supper at TMC is not limited to our members but is open to all who believe in him.
